He is survived by: his wife Janet Johnson; his children, Lisa Hillmer (Paul) of Appleton, Paul Johnson (Jenni) of Oshkosh, Brad Johnson (Dawn Koceja) of Pewaukee and Todd Johnson (McKinsie) of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren, Tessa Gersmehl (Jordon) of Appleton, Jenna Shimek (Peter) of Sun Prairie, Cole Johnson (Kayla) of Oshkosh, Blake Johnson of Neenah, Jordan Johnson (Emily) of Sun Prairie, Nate Johnson of Fond du Lac, Eli Johnson of Beaver Dam and Mya Johnson of Beaver Dam; his great grandchildren, Kaysin, Kam, Blair, Luca, Emmy and Lainey; his siblings, Marita Johnson of Rochester, MN, John Johnson (Verna) of Byron, MN, Judy Szyszka (LaVern), Carol Larson (Byron) of St. Peter, MN and Tom Johnson (Jean) of Grand Rapids, MN; and his brother-in-law John Turnacliff of Mound, MN. He is also survived by nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made in Mark J. Johnson's name to Alzheimer's Association.

“Jan, You have my sincere sympathy. Markie was such a great friend to both Larry and me. We spent some wonderful times at the resort on Lake June in Florida. Mark and Larry enjoyed discussing ball games and politics. It was also nice to be able to get together back in Wisconsin. Love, Betty Gunnelson”
