He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Gartland and Anne Gartland (Schegetz); and his wife Marleen (Caves). He is survived by: his sons, Jeffrey Gartland (Cheryl) and James Gartland (Patricia); his grandchildren, Michael Gartland (Hayley), Alyson Biewer (Nathan), Elizabeth DeCamps (Arnold), Cody Gartland, Mya Jaeckel (Dietrich) and Luke Gartland; his great grandchild Leo Thomas Biewer; his siblings, Patricia Burchardt (Chad) and Dan Gartland (Patti); and his close friend Sue Ann Patrouille.
