He was predeceased by: his parents, Beauford Udell and Helen Udell (Brittan); his wife Alta M. Dickerson; his son Britt; his grandson Max Merlet; his son-in-law Russ Merlet; his sister Jeanne; his brother-in-law Ray Essington; and his brother Bob Udell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jan Knutson (Robert), Julie Udell and Joanie Smith (Scott); his grandchildren, Michelle Schwarz (Matt), Julia Jordan and Shane Potter; his stepgrandsons, Zach (Sarah) and Tim Knutson (Patty); his great grandchildren, Sophie, Sam Schwarz, Connor, Reese, Brynn, Robert and Kollin Knutson; and his sisters-in-law, Rose Rodgers and Lynda Christensen. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
