He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Etringer and Lucille Etringer (Nuss); his former wife Sandra Ball; his daughter Barbara; and his mother-in-law Donna Rutenbeck.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Etringer; his children, Terri Velender (Greg), Mathias Etringer (Nicole) and Jill Etringer; his grandchildren, Tanner (Samantha), Trevor (Cara), Tyler Hollis (Azalea), Tayana, Shaquille Roman, Adison and Grayson Etringer; his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Kylynn, Kacen, Vera and Brooks; his siblings, Steven Etringer (Carolyn) of Waterloo, IA, Michael Etringer (Jan) of Waterloo, IA, Pat Etringer (Becky) of Houston, TX and Mary Ann Buck of Waterloo, IA; and his nephew Alan Rutenbeck.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his name to Beloit Regional Hospice or the American Heart Association.
