It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Diane M. Christensen (Beloit, Wisconsin), born in Blair, Wisconsin, who passed away on September 13, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Milton Sjuggerud and Hazel Sjuggerud (Duffield); her parents-in-law, Leo and Edna Christensen (Schieldt); her siblings, Nancy Nelson, Candice Covert and David Sjuggerud (Jean); her siblings-in-law, Ruth Dierks (Bob), Donald Christensen (Jean) and James Firestone; and her grandson Leo Hendrickson Christensen.
She is survived by: her husband LaVerne Phillip Christensen; her children, Brian Christensen (Donna Hendrickson), Beth Nelson (Rick) and Kevin Christensen; her grandchildren, Brandon Christensen, Alex Nelson (Matthew Wagner), Annika and Clara Christensen; her sister Sandy Firestone; her brothers-in-law, James Christensen (Sue) and Steve Covert; and her cousin Nedra Hanson (Loren). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She helped others with her creative skills, making over a thousand masks at the onset of Covid for whoever needed them, as well as creating hundreds of mittens, hats and blankets to help keep school kids warm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any gifts be directed to the Beloit Regional Hospice or the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin.
