He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Sandlin and Annie Sandlin; and his brothers, Charles "Wilbur" Sandlin, Frank Rowen Sandlin, Ronald Lee Sandlin and Dwight Delane Sandlin.
He is survived by: his wife Mary of Beloit; his children, Twannee Sandlin of Toledo, Romanda Silas of Pontotoc, Damian Evans of Racine, Tascha Sanders (Damian) of Atlanta, Georgia and DaQuan Sandlin of Beloit, Wisconsin; and his siblings, Thurston Sandlin (Janet) of Beloit, Sharon May of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Carolyn Carter of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is also survived by granddaughter and great grandchildren.
