He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Courtney and Relda Courtney (Burdick); and his son Dennis Courtney. He is survived by: his wife Jan Courtney; his children, Reverend Debbie Courtney, Dale Courtney (Carol) and Dori Feurig (Bob); and his grandchildren, Amanda Dobbs (Phil), Melissa Baeuerle, Michael Courtney and Nicole Courtney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Beloit Regional Hospice.
