He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Johnson and Betty Johnson (Zimmerman); his daughter Brenda Johnson; and his sisters, Conrada Hill and Paige Sullivan.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Johnson (Wilson); his children, Marc Johnson (Ronna) and Tina Brooks; his grandchildren, Cody, Moriah, Brenna and Gabriella; his siblings, Carl Johnson, Gwen Johnson, Britta Johnson and Stacey Sarakinis; his nephew Ron "Ronnie" Schoepfer; and his close friend Rick "Hub" Schulenburg. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
