He was predeceased by: his parents, George Butler and Elenor Butler (Austin); his uncle Norm Austin (Dorothy); his aunts, Marie Benson (Leroy) and Betty Wright (Earl); his grandparents, William and Nellie Austin (Swanson); and his father-in-law William Penewell.

He is survived by: his wife Sheree Butler of Beloit, WI; his cousins, Lori Wright Henderson of Chicago, IL and Bill Benson of Rockford, IL; his mother-in-law Rosemary Penewell of Beloit, WI; and his sisters-in-law, Kim Schultz (Jay) of South Beloit, IL and Debbie Georgeson (Tim) of Oregon, WI.
