The memory of Ruth E. Spooner of Beloit, Wisconsin, who passed away on May 7, 2026 at the age of 90, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Richeson and Pearl Richeson; her husband Raymond "Limey" Spooner; her son Neil Spooner; and her siblings, Norman, Aaron Richeson and Irene Sedeora (Tej).
She is survived by: her children, Dean Spooner (Lynda), Jill Jennings and Gail Kretschmer (Michael); her daughter-in-law Holly Fletcher; her friend Laura Hernandez; her grandchildren, Noelle Calhoun (Bennie), Savannah Jennings, Laura Spooner, Miah Kretschmer and Jadyn Kretschmer (Chase Peterson); her great grandchild Jase Peterson; her brother Cedric Richeson (Emily); and her sister-in-law Trudy Richeson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Sunset Funeral Home (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, May 16th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Sunset Memorial Gardens (8800 N Alpine Rd, Machesney Park, IL 61115).
