He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Garvin and Ruby Garvin (Pettibone); and his brother Elliott Garvin. He is survived by: his wife Renate; his brother Larry Garvin (Sadie); his sons, Robert Garvin (Holly), Mike Garvin (Laura), C. R. Garvin and Henning Garvin (Kjetil); and his grandchildren, Ma'iingan, Haakon, Kai, Gavin, Christopher, Nathaniel and Cassandra. He is also survived by great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
