He is survived by: his significant other Dottie McGuigan; the mothers of children, Donna Chambers of Darlington and Lynn McGranahan of Darlington; his children, Lisa Paulson (Mark Ruf) of Fayette, Ryan McGranahan (Betsy) of Lamont, Lucas McGranahan (Trang Nguyen) of Madison and Jared McGranahan (Kelley) of Darlington; his grandsons, Michael (Alyssah Kubly), Jacob and Matthew Ruf; his children, Erin, Sean, Kathryn McGranahan, Brooklyn, Clint, Hank and Waylon McGranahan; his great grandchild Lainey Ruf; his siblings, Anne Veach of Spragueville, IA, Deanna Lux (Jim) of Peosta, IA, Lisa Clausen (Keith) of Preston, IA, Patty Keating (Ben) of Maquoketa, IA, Jerry McGranahan (Peggy) of DeWitt, IA and Mike McGranahan (Marlene) of Andrew, IA.; and his stepmother Betty McGranahan.
