He was predeceased by: his parents, Ever Herman and Dorothe Margaret Hanson (Johnson); his brother Douglas; and his pet Roger. He is survived by: his brothers, Russell Hanson (Vanessa) of Onalaska and Terrence Hanson (Cathy) of Janesville; and his nieces and nephews, Hans, Erik, Thurston, Chandra, Laura, Adam, Kara, Lois, Leif, Linda, Jill and David.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials which the family will use to plant trees in honor of Sam's love and vast knowledge of trees and forestry.
