He was predeceased by: his parents, Rolla Parkins and Pauline Parkins (Hampton) of Glen Haven, WI.; his brother Jim Parkins; his sister-in-law Sharon Parkins; his daughter-in-law Linda Parkins (Mergen); Michael, Lena Mergen, John, Margaret Mergen, Betty Mergen, Ambrose Mergen, Joe, Verna Mergen, Bud and Rosemary Elskamp.

He is survived by: his wife Bernadette Mergen of Mary's Catholic Church; and his children, Bob Parkins (Mary Jo) of Appleton, WI, Tom Parkins (late Linda) of Bloomington, WI, John Parkins (Mark Essington) of Wood Dale, IL, Cathy Luhring (Mark) of Waunakee, WI, Mike Parkins (April) of Pardeeville, WI and Kelli Keiner (Greg Sanders) of Oregon, WI. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
