He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Schneider and Harriet Schneider (Sieg); his former wife Diane Disch; his grandson Ashtian Rufer; and his siblings, Sharon Wolter, Gail Crupp, Keith and Kevin.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Rufer of Brodhead; his children, Michelle Blackman (Jeff) of Green Bay, Angela Schneider, Mike Rufer (Dawn) of Clinton, Debra Conway (Tim) of Brodhead and Jean Randles (Craig) of Janesville; his grandchildren, Alex, Zoey, Oliver, Ben, Stephanie, Jacque, Aislinn, Ty, Grace, Ryan, Rachel, Madalyn and Maya; and his great grandchildren, Evan, Hadley, Luna and Olivia.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at E201 23rd St, Brodhead, WI 53520. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Congregational United Church of Christ (201 23rd St, Brodhead, WI 53520).
