He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Schmitz and Nora Schmitz; his brother Harold Schmitz; his former wife Marion Schmitz; his wife Erdeen; and his daughter Lynne Schmitz.
He is survived by: his sister Eleanore Schulz; his children, Larry Schmitz (Karla), Ralph Kugler, Raymond Kugler and Karen Schmitz; his granddaughters, Nicole Oyler and Kate Lemere (Mark); and his great grandchildren, Ezri Chico and Jeremy Oyler. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Luther Manor or Trinity Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee.
