Bruce J. Magnuson Obituary
Bruce J. Magnuson, a titan of industry in the Milwaukee Area for over 40 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on November 10, 2022, in Brookfield, WI.
Born in Marinette, WI on January 14, 1951, Bruce was educated in Marinette Schools and received his Bachelor's Degree from Milton College and his Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin. He excelled in basketball and football in high school and went on to lead his basketball team at Milton to many championships.
He worked as an insurance agent for Connecticut Mutual and a Senior Sales Rep for both Anixter and Capital Electric before founding CableMaster Corporation in 1987, a successful electrical wire and cable distributor, and grew that business to a multi-million dollar business, employing hundreds of people over the years. A serial entrepreneur, he also established MasterLink Corp and Suitor's Limited in the Brookfield area.
Bruce was an avid big-game hunter, a collector of art, enjoyed the occasional cigar with his many friends, and mentored dozens of people, having a huge positive impact on many.
There are few people who are as generous as he was, and he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Harry John and Florence Magnuson and his brother, Jim. Bruce is survived by his brother, Jeff, sister, Mary, niece, Anna, nephew, Michael, and significant other, Amanda Ahimsa. He is further survived by many colleagues and friends.
Visitation for Bruce will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, from 4 until 7 PM at Schmidt and Bartelt Funeral Home, 10121 W. North Ave., Wauwatosa, WI 53226. Graveside committal will take place on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 10 AM at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI 53005. Please meet in the parking area beyond the main gate entrance prior to 10 AM to form a procession to the grave site.
