He was predeceased by: his spouse Marlyce R.; his son Matthew Hess; and his granddaughter Sarah Flink. He is survived by: his children, Rae Ann Scherr (George) and Jana Doemel (Mark); his grandchildren, Stephanie Sowle (Tom) and Chelsie Smidl (Tony); his great grandchildren, Kayla, Evelyn, Emerson, Madelynn, Alaina, Beckham, Felicity and Willow; and his sister Carol Churchill (late Ron). He is also survived by nieces, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Harder Funeral Home (18700 W Capitol Dr, Brookfield, WI 53045). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
