He was predeceased by: his parents, Jitendra Shastri and Kusumben Shastri. He is survived by: his wife Nischala "Neela" Shastri; his sons, Nikhil Shastri (Anita) and Rajen Shastri (Swapna); and his grandchildren, Devan, Rani, Jayan, Eshan and Sai. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
