She was predeceased by: her grandmother Nana; and her parents, Ollie Carl and Mildred Kempf. She is survived by: her husband Richard Cavalco Sr.; and her children, William Cavalco (Dawn), Christine Berger (Michael), Richard Cavalco Jr. and Anthony Cavalco (Kathy). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Breast Cancer Foundation, an organization that Janis supported as a breast cancer survivor.
