He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Johann Schafer and Anna Marie Geringer; his extended family Johanniskirchen of Germany; his wife Carol; his children, Kevin Schaefer (Lauren) and Cindy Regenfuss (Stephan); his grandchildren, John Hartz, Annabelle and Sophia Schaefer; and his brother-in-law Harro Lenz. He was also cherished by other relatives and friends.
