He is survived by: his wife Kathy (Nee Kean); his children, Erin Schuldt (Joel), John Brian Sheeley (Michelle) and Shannon Wessing (Tim); his grandchildren, Ellie, Daniel, Cassia, Jonathan, Molly, Jack, Katherine, Finnegan and Teddy; his mother-in-law Martha Evelyn; his brother William Sheeley (Sue); and his siblings-in-law, Joan Moebius (Dave), Judy Istler (Chuck), Karen Ricica (Frank) and David Kean (Amie). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.

“I was the oldest member of our class of '66 DHS turned 76 in May 2023. So sorry to hear about John and the cancer. He was "star" in our class, a friend and liked by all of us. Although due to a life in Chicago I only saw Joh a little in Milwaukee after HS and College; he made both the 25th and 50th reunions. He hadn't changed a bit the glint of mischief and succes in his eye. God speed my blessings and prayers say hi to St Peter on your way past ....until we meet again. John E Beckstedt Sr.”
