Marian G. Kastner Obituary
Marian G. Kastner, 95 years old, formerly of Brookfield, Wisconsin was called to heaven to be with her beloved husband, Edwin J. Kastner, on Sunday, August 13th2023. A loving and generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was loved by many. She was born to Estella and Raymond E. Gest on January 29th, 1928, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Marian is a graduate of Nathan Hale High School and attended Carroll College in Waukesha.
Marin was married to Edwin, the love of her life, for 36 years, residing in Brookfield, WI. Their love affair was evident by the hundreds of love letters they wrote to each other when corresponding from Milwaukee to Madison. They were members of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, and the joy of their life was raising four children together. Marian took great pride and interest in the wellbeing and upbringing of her family.
Marian's friends and family will tell you that her opinions were respected and her advice always wise and honest. She was happiest in her kitchen baking a cake or German torte or just talking with her husband and kids. She was at peace when her children were happy and safe.
Marian was able to light up a room with her gorgeous smile and make others laugh with her quick wit and endearing expressions. More than anything she was a strong, resilient, intelligent, and kind mother and wife, who dearly loved her family. Marian was an example of courage to those around her and she will leave a lasting impression on our hearts. Her strong will and loving spirit will most certainly live on in all of us. We love you mom and will miss you immensely.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin J. Kastner, in 1989, and her sister Lillian Hetzel in 2019. She is survived by her brother, Terry Gray, her 4 children, Lisa Stengel (Edward), Lynn Kastner (Brian), John Kastner (Julee) and Amy Paul (Bob). She is survived by her grandchildren, Connor, Jacob, Noah and Isabelle Stengel, Dan Stengel (Sherri), Matt Stengel, Jenni Bray (Tony), Melissa Richert (Rob), Kevin (Megan), Kyle (Suzanne) and Brian (Caity) Riste, Karson Paul, and great grandchildren Molly, Noah, and William Riste.
Marian will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park at 13235 West Capitol Drive in Brookfield, Wisconsin alongside her husband Edwin. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made directly to The Parkinson's Foundation (http://parkinson.org) and the American Cancer Society (https://).
