He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Dusterhoft and Regina Dusterhoft (Backer); his wife Barbara; his brother Donald; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Mosher, Patricia Congemi, Elaine Beaudoin, Wilbur Kurtzweil, Laverne Mosher, William Beaudoin and Richard Wohlers.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Ewing (Douglas) and Kathleen Ciesielczyk (Scott); his grandchildren, Alyssa Schauz (Brandon), Emily LaCoursiere (Ben), Nicole Knoke (Nick), Grace Ciesielczyk, Matthew Ciesielczyk and Mitchel Ewing; his great grandchildren, Evette, Margot, Remy, Chester Schauz, Lucille, Declan LaCoursiere and Illa Knoke; and his sister Ruth Wohlers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
