He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Hartenstein and Leona Hartenstein; and his brother Lee Hartenstein. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Lynda Krecklow (Tom), Sue Schaber (Doug), Sandy Behling (Paul) and John Hartenstein; his grandchildren, Melissa, Micah, Shayla (Skyler Martin), Julia, Jonah Krecklow, Sam, Christine Gillespie (Jamie), Holly, Peter, Emily Behling, Joshua (Rachel), Caleb (Ruth), Matthew Schaber of Lexi, DJ and Quincy Hartenstein; and his brother Alan Hartenstein (Linda). He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
