She was predeceased by: her parents, Dwight W. Smith and Phoebe M. E. Smith; her husband Robert G. Patzwald; her siblings, Dwight W. Smith (Elaine), Elizabeth P. Wilcox (Forest), Robert E. Smith and Marlys D. Crites (James); and her daughter-in-law Sandra Patzwald.

She is survived by: her children, Linda L. Hopkins (Eugene) and Robert A. Patzwald; her grandchildren, Robert L. Hopkins (Christie), Johnathon Patzwald (Andreanna), Jason Patzwald (Jennifer Flenz) and Joanna Clamors (Zach); and her great grandchildren, Dylan Hopkins, DeAnna Hopkins, Henry Patzwald, Emersyn Patzwald and Cohen Clamors. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and longtime family friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Shirley's name may be made to World Central Kitchen or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
