He was predeceased by: his parents, August Paulson and Marion Paulson; his brother Eugene "Butch" Paulson; and his parents-in-law, Jim and Jane McCourt.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Pegg" McCourt; his sons, Billy Paulson (Sarah) and Ben Paulson (Hanna); his grandchildren, Billy, Gracelyn, Cooper and Lincoln; his sister Linda Mockus (Harry Levin); and his in-laws, Maureen George (Forrest), Mike McCourt (Debi), Jim McCourt (Terri), Kathleen Daniels (Marvin) and Tim McCourt (Barb). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
