James Cermak Jr. Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Cermak Jr. of Butternut, Wisconsin, born in Cicero, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 28, 2025 at the age of 83. As James departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved James. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his wife Helen; his parents, James Sr. and Josephine; and his sister Judy Cermak Bormann. He is survived by: his children, Amy Cermak (Ralph Carey) of New Jersey and Jamie Cermak (Annie Bussiere) of Maine; and his brother Jerry Cermak (Judy-Ann) of Indiana. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, former students, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Butternut American Legion Post 126 South 4th. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to local youth enrichment programs in your area to honor Jim's lifelong commitment to supporting young people and the arts.
