He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Horn and Bernice Horn (Kuecker); his daughter Susan Schwebach; his parents-in-law, Delia and Hobson Meiners; his siblings, Wilmer Horn (Cel), Geraldine Oseth (Norman), Beverly Snell, Lorraine Melendy (Bob) and Merle (Elmer Horn); and his friend Marvin Ehlers.

He is survived by: his daughter Sue; his wife Carol Meiners; his daughters, Linda Kruse (Devoine) and Diane Deters (Bryan); his son-in-law Mark Schwebach; his grandchildren, Amy Hoscheit (Brad), Jessica Kohnen (Dan), Nick Schwebach (Brooke) and Tracy Curtis (Jason); his great grandchildren, Tyler and Peyton Hoscheit; his siblings, Janice Doely (Arlen), LaVonne Oitzman (Richard) and Wayne Horn (Kathy); and his brothers-in-law, Arleigh Meiners and Ray Snell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church or the donor's choice.
