Lois A. Van Ess Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lois A. Van Ess of Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 2, 2026 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Maat and Mae Ter Maat (Tenpas); her husband Philip Van Ess; and her siblings-in-law, Carol TerMaat, Sue Van Ess, Alvina Van Ess, Harvey (Gladys) and Irvin Van Ess (Beatrice).

She is survived by: her children, Mark Van Ess (Jodi), Dale Van Ess (Jodi) of Cedar Grove and Laura Voss (Russell) of Plymouth; her grandsons, Andrew Van Ess (Katie) of Oostburg, Alex Van Ess of Cedar Grove, Aric Van Ess (Beth) of Cascade, Brandon Van Ess of Oostburg, Tanner Voss (Mirandra) and Hunter Voss of Plymouth; her great grandchildren, Gavin, Lydia Van Ess, Kennedy and Mason Van Ess; her siblings, LaVerne Opgenorth (Wayne) of Oostburg, Leona Thuene (Dan) of Cedar Grove and Lloyd TerMaat of Cedar Grove; and her brother-in-law Roger Van Ess of Cedar Grove.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Lois's name for the First Reformed Church, Family Nite, and for the Cedar Grove Fire and First Department.
