He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Aloysius and Marilyn Alex; his parents-in-law, Clarence Michels and Congetta "Connie" Michels; his siblings-in-law, Earl Bergin, Thomas Aschbacher and Ann Pakalski-Michels; and his nephew Philip Aschbacher.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Jean Alex; his children, Peter (Cheryl), Paul William (Charlotte), Christopher (Inna) and Maria Ryff (Kody); his grandchildren, Grant (Lindsay), Paige (Matt), Hope, Grace (Alex Cornell), Paul Richard (Kaitlyn), Mia (Dylan), Elijah, Ari, Chloe and Giavana; his sisters, Joanne Aschbacher and Marilyn Bergin; his brothers-in-law, Allen "Al" Michels and William "Bill" Michels (Terese "Terri"); and his siblings' children, Larry, Daniel, Annette, Cathy, David, John, Rosalie, Greg, Mark, Matthew and Mary.
