He was predeceased by: his son Paul; his great grandchild Albert Ackerman; his parents, Norman Matthews and Elsie Bolton; and his brothers, James, Richard and Stewart Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Ann Cassel (Sonny), Tom (Debra), Catherine Nordlie (Curt), Susan Ackerman (JD), James, John, Peter (Jen) and Daniel (Laura); his daughter-in-law Laura Matthews; his sister Pauline; and his siblings-in-law, Jane Matthews, Susan Zimmerman (Steve) and William Klaes (Char). He is also survived by 33 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Notre Dame Catholic Church (117 Allen St, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
