He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Shilts and Anna Shilts (Pozarski); and his siblings, Thomas Shilts and Shirley Kliest. He is survived by: his wife Janet Stooldryer; his children, Mark Shilts (Lynn), Lori McIlquham (Dale), Gary Shilts and Carolyn Kent (Jan); his sister Janet Bauer; his grandchildren, Jessica Berklund, Amanda Johnson (Adam), Jennifer Swain (Steve), Sam Shilts (Anna), Alex Kent (Sam), Mitch Kent (Briana), Zachary Kent, Alynia Froelich (Paul) and Mariah Wirner; and his great grandchildren, Julia Baxter, William Baxter, Henry Johnson, Rhea, Everly Wirner, Caleb, Charlotte Froelich, Oscar, Linus Shilts and Kade Kent.
