He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Peterson and Mildred Peterson (Ritzaur); his wife Sally A. Morfitt; and his siblings, Darrell Peterson and Jane Hegeman.

He is survived by: his children, Ranae (Mike), Clayton, Tracy Peterson, Daniel Peterson (Becky) and Brad Peterson (Amy); his siblings, Gayle Hughes and Don Peterson (Wray); his sister-in-law Helen Peterson (Many); and his nephew Friends. He is also survived by son 16 Grandchildren 11 Great Grandchildren.
