He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Kaestner and Luella Kaestner (Machut); his siblings, Roy Kaestner (Barbara), Jeanette Moioffer and Phyllis Nohl (Leander); his extended family, Reinhard Palm (Joyce) and Hans Palm; his in-laws, Walter, Laura Siegert, Dr. Roger Siegert (Barbara) and Marvin Siegert (LaVerne); his nephew Timothy Nohl; and his extended family, Jayne List and Annette Ostrom.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Siegert; his children, Kristine Lubenow (Dennis), Patty Taylor (James), Gary Kaestner (Sheri) and Scott Kaestner (Ann); his grandchildren, Kayla Lubenow, Lucas Lubenow (Erica), Kelly Lubenow, Walter Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Brandon Cyr (Shaliese), Grant Kaestner (Hannah Lilje) and Ava Kaestner; his great grandchildren, Stella, Lucy and Charlotte Lubenow; and his extended family Gladys Palm. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name to help support organizations he cherished.
