He was predeceased by: his parents, Erwin Bender and Edna Bender (Brendel); his brothers, Jerold, Kenny and Erwin Jr. Bender; his parents-in-law, Clemens and Florence Lorenz; and his siblings-in-law, Ken Gumm and Debbie Lorenz.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Bender; his children, Vicki O'Day, Larry Bender (Kristin), Jeffrey Bender (Maria) and Kristie Dirks (Kevin); his grandchildren, Joshua Bender, Stephanie Mbanaso (Chimaobi), Darrick O'Day, Levi Bender (Nicole), Jamie Weidemann (Kevin) and Jenny Bender (Zach); his sister Judy Bender; and his in-laws, Charlene Gumm, Ronald Lorenz (LuAnn), Janice Casper (Richard), Barbara Berger (Steve), Judith Wallner (Dennis), David Lorenz and Richard Lorenz (Tina). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren with one on the way; three step great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice or Grace Lutheran Church.
