It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph J. Ortner (Clintonville, Wisconsin), who passed away on June 11, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Ortner and Irene Ortner (Nitke); his grandson Jordan Ortner; his brother Ramon Ortner (Maynard); and his siblings-in-law, Galena Ortner, Sandra Smith, Diana Hidde, Donald Smith and Donald Roever.

He is survived by: his close friend Bill Radies; his wife Shirley Ortner; his children, Jeffrey Ortner (Donna), John Ortner (Lisa), Victoria Berg (Lee) and David Ortner (Rhonda); his grandchildren, Bradley Schmid, Rebecca Duckworth (Brad), Jacob Schmid (Becca), Taylor Ortner, Tyler Berg (Amanda), Emily Ortner, Erin Ortner, Alec Berg (Kylie), Trenton Ortner, Madisen Ortner, Joseph Ortner, Evelyn Ortner and Lucas Ortner; his great grandchildren, Hunter, Kendal, Bennett, Beau, Mitchel, Laiklyn, Darick, Saylor, Dallas, Jayne and Halle; his sister Patricia Roever; his brothers-in-law, Gary Hidde, Tom, Bill and Gary Sanders; and his daughter-in-law Ann Ortner.
