Ian M. Ward Obituary
Of Colgate, found peace on October 25, 2025, at the age of 33. Born on March 11, 1992, in Menomonee Falls, WI, to Mike and Deb (Altenbach), Ian was a loving brother to Briana and Evan (Andrea Le) and a cherished grandson of Lois (the late David) Ward. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Karen (Chris) Haecker, Mark (Sandra) Ward, and Ann (David) Ward-Jagodsinski, as well as his cousins, extended family, and many devoted friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ken and Jan Altenbach.
Ian graduated from Germantown High School in 2010 and went to study at UW-Lacrosse. For 12 years, he was a valued member of the team at Hampel Corporation, later working at Systems Inc., both in Germantown.
A proud Eagle Scout, Ian's love for the outdoors was evident in countless camping trips, hikes, and fun under the stars. As a mentor to young scouts, Ian was always ready with a word of encouragement, a helping hand, or a story that sparked curiosity. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he inspired and befriended.
A passionate fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Bruins, Arsenal, and Wrexham Football Clubs, Ian's love for sports was matched by his deep knowledge of film. A self-proclaimed expert on all things Star Wars, his thoughtful discussions about movies were a beloved part of his personality.
Ian's family and friends meant everything to him. We will forever remember his kindness, infectious laugh, and the way he made every moment special. A bright light in the lives of all who knew him, he will be dearly missed by those who loved him.
Visitation for Ian will be held on Friday November 7 at the Schmidt & Bartelt Funeral Home in Menomonee Falls from 4 PM until the time of the Funeral Service at 6 PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation on Ian's behalf to the children's charity of your choice.
Currently there is road construction going on in front of the Funeral Home on Menomonee Ave. You can enter the main driveway coming westbound on Menomonee Ave. but not eastbound. There are two other entrances that you can use. The first one is off of Town Hall Rd. on the west side and the other is off of Shady Lane on the east side.
