He was predeceased by: his parents, Werner Kessenich and Anna Kessenich (Maly); and his brothers, William and Roger. He is survived by: his wife JoAnn Mary Derr; his children, Deb Krebs (John), Nancy Dietzen (Russ), Diane Johnson (Daryl), Linda Keech (Craig) and Dan (Jen Meier); his grandchildren, Amy Havlicek (Ben), Jack, Kyle Dietzen, Gabi, Hattie Johnson, Van, Claire, Norah Keech, Riley, Chloe and Hoyt Kessenich; his great grandchild Gavin Havlicek; and his sister-in-law Kathy Kessenich.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St Jerome Catholic Church (1550 Farnham St, Columbus, WI 53925).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all memorials be directed to the family to be shared with the St. Joseph Catholic Church Storm Damage Fund.
