He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Benz and Doris Benz (Slang); his parents-in-law, Alois and Elaine Van Vreede; his brothers, Ken Benz and Roger Benz; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Feudner, Dan Van Vreede, Don Van Vreede, Jan Knapp, Patricia Rasmussen and Mary Lou Van Vreede.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Benz; his children, Aaron Benz (Elleyn), Ryan Benz (Karla) and Breckan Feltz (Brian); his grandchildren, Sam Eddington III, Jacob Benz, Meghan Benz, Karsten Benz, Malena Benz, Brant Feltz, Braden Benz, Rylan Feltz and Jason Benz; his siblings, Jan Feudner, Evans Benz (Pat), Lyle Benz (Pat) and Cheryl Habeck (Ron); and his siblings-in-law, Carol Hietpas (Lee), Donna Sauby (Gary), Lyle Van Vreede, Linda Fischer, Gary Van Vreede (Sue), Mary Balcerak (Ed), Lee Van Vreede (Stephanie), Dave Rasmussen, Matt Knapp and Karen Benz. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
