We announce the death of Lisa Marilyn (Winkers) Smelzer (Cross Plains, Wisconsin), who passed away on August 12, 2026, at the age of 57. Lisa will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Carol Winkers and Donald Winkers of Highland, Wis.; her siblings, Pam Pospichal and Butch Winkers; and her brother-in-law Rick Smelzer.

She is survived by: her husband James "Jim" Smelzer; her daughters, Morgan Halverson (Brandon) and Mackenzie Laufenberg (Brandon); her pets, Breck and Xander; her grandchildren, Brooks, Braelynn, Blayke Halverson, Jayden, Halle and Cameron Laufenberg; her siblings, Karen Scullion (Jim), Tim Winkers (Lori Salis) and Brenda Prestwood (Randy); and her siblings-in-law, Tonna Winkers, Kenneth Pospichal, Kim Mensch and Judy Smelzer. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
