She was predeceased by: her parents, Alois Hollander and Sarah Hollander (Walton); her husband Merlin J. Slaats; her daughter Debra Jean Slaats; and her siblings, Irene Welsh (Paul), J. Alois Hollander, Mary Myers (Tommy), Norman Hollander (Monica "Joyce"), Naomi Heidenreich (Calvin) and Jeannette Koehn.
She is survived by: her children, Randy Slaats (Carol), Renee Taylor (Curt), Ron Slaats (Laura) and Lori McKinley (Doug); her grandchildren, Nikki, Jessie, Christy, Jennifer, Blake, Trey, Wyatt, Brittany, Brandon, Bethany, Connor and Ella; and her brother-in-law Roger (Mary Slaats). She is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Doris C. Slaats Memorial Fund has been established.
