He was predeceased by: his parents, Arnold Folmer and Lucille Folmer (Goffinet); his siblings-in-law, Roger, Raymond Wallenhorst and Judy Wallenhorst; and his nephews, Ryan and Steven Wallenhorst.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn M. Wallenhorst; his children, Steve Folmer of Fitchburg, WI, Dan Folmer of Three Lakes, WI, Tricia Firzlaff (Chad) of Durango, IA, Kari Kuhle (Brian) of Dubuque, IA and Eric Folmer (Holli) of Hazel Green, WI; and his siblings-in-law, Ralph Wallenhorst, Robert Wallenhorst (Marlene), Randy Wallenhorst, Royce Wallenhorst (Michelle), Sue Wallenhorst (Dave Huehne) and Molly Wallenhorst. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (780 Co Rd Z, Hazel Green, WI 53811).
In lieu of plants & flowers, a John P. Folmer Memorial Fund has been established.
