He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Smith and Phyllis Smith (Ward); his granddaughter Sadie Smith; and his grandparents, Mary Lavinia Day and Ernest Everett Day.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Mosley; his children, Deborah Kranhenbuhl (Sheldon) of Darlington, Steve Smith (LuAnn) of Darlington, Tom Smith (Stacey) of Darlington and Bill Smith (Jamie) of Darlington; his grandchildren, Bryan Krahenbuhl (Jada), Elisa Mathys (Jeffrey), Kara Scott (Jacob), Shawni Dee (Bryan), Heath Smith (Laura), Jesse Smith, James Ackley and Frankie Smith; and his siblings, Marilyn Siegenthaler, Ruth Ann Peterson (Kenny) and John Smith. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
