He was predeceased by: his parents, John Matyas and Mary Matyas; his parents-in-law, Andrew and Emilie Klein; and his sister-in-law Marsha McCloskey.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Matyas; his children, Molly Matyas, Elizabeth Matyas, Mark Matyas (Radhika) and Ellen Gurholt (Joe); his grandsons, Elijah Wright, Isaac Wright, Maximilian Matyas, Casimir Matyas, Henry Gurholt and Franklin Gurholt; his siblings, Sue Black (Greg), Tom Matyas (Jane), Paul Matyas (Maureen) and Jeff Matyas (Linda); and his brother-in-law Bob Klein (Marcia). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to CASA of Brown County 414 E Walnut St #170, Green Bay, WI 54301, an organization that was very meaningful to David because of its important work advocating for youth in the foster care system.
