He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Wilmet and Magdalen Wilmet (Vanden Heuvel); his daughter Laurie Wilmet; his siblings, Shirley Wilmet, Cathy Baylie, Joan Krueser (William), Mary Knoll (David), Cathy Besaw (Robert), Robert Wilmet (Bonnie) and Richard; his parents-in-law, Claude and Angeline Langenfeld; and his brother-in-law Henry Cleereman (Claudette).
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Langenfeld; his children, John J. Wilmet (Gwen), Debbie Marchant (Scott) and Doug Wilmet (Amy); his grandchildren, Cassidy Skaleski (Dan), Tauna Vaughn (Brad) and Joel Lemerond (Sam); and his great grandchildren, Tessa, Addison, Scarlet, Violet, Lydia and Ellie.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church (1305 Lourdes Ave, De Pere, WI 54115). A Mass was held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in John's name.
