He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Brosteau and Eleanor Brosteau (Bowers); his wife Bonnie Brosteau (Smits); his parents-in-law, Harold and Irene Smits; his sister Kay Blohowiak; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Smits and Chuck Gabriel.

He is survived by: his son Scott Brosteau (Mary); his grandchildren, Mitch Brosteau and Kirstyn Guyette (Isaac); his daughter Amy Grovogel (Tim); his grandchildren, Kennedy Grovogel-Prokash (Shawn) and Sawyer Grovogel; his brother Tom Brosteau (Bonnie J.); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Kay Gabriel, Sandy Smits and Ronald Blohowiak.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
