He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Garber and Winifred Garber (Whitney); his in-laws, Kenneth and Helen Orr; and his brother-in-law Gary Collins.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Orr; his children, Gary Richard Garber (Mara Deutsch) and Laura Anne Garber (Henry Wuensche); his grandchildren, Allison Helen Garber, Samuel Kenneth Garber, Helen Sky Castillo-Madeen (Ricardo Castillo-Flores) and Henry Birch Madeen; and his sister Jane Collins. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Richard's name can be made to any of the following charities which were important to Richard and his family: Cultivating Connections Montana: Cultivating Connections is dedicated to strengthening community bonds through food.
