It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Smits of De Pere, Wisconsin, born in Green Bay, Wisconsin, who passed away on April 24, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Smits and Florence Smits (Spritka); his daughter Barbara Kornowske; and his siblings, Robert Smits (Doris) and Joan Sauvey.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Stammer; his children, Kathy Mack (Jim), Susan Gillespie (Jerry) and Jim Smits; his son-in-law Les Kornowske; his grandchildren, Thomas (Kayla), Matthew, Joseph, Wesley (Sara), Ross (Melany), Jacqueline (Daniel), Michael and Blaise; and his sister Marilyn Smits. He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established to support causes dear to Richard.
