He was predeceased by: his parents, Norbert Michels and Niyla Michels (Kahler); his brothers-in-law, Robert Haanen, Quinn Benz and Llyod Benz; and his sisters, Jean Van Oss and Mary Haanen.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Benz; his children, Mary Renkens (Robert), Lynn Zettel (George), Karen Lampereur (Bryan), James Michels (Kristin) and Matthew Michels (Megan); and his siblings-in-law, Arnold Van Oss (Bud) and LaVurne Wyatt (Benz). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
